    Your preference: Billed cap or full-brimmed hat?

    I live in Australia and am very fair skinned so need to wide brimmed hat. I purchased a wide brimmed 'cooling' hat prior to travelling as it was light and cool to wear. I purchased a Buff and used this when the sun was not a problem or the temperature was cooler. Very versatile.

    Day pack - food

    I am not a snacker but always bought fresh fruit in the evening to eat on the way to breakfast. We always walked to breakfast usually about 5klms. We found we only ate breakfast and then an early dinner. Mostly ate the Pilgrim menu 3 courses.

    Splitting the First Day

    We stopped at Orisson and definitely recommend it. We met many pilgrims who we finished the Camino with. The pilgrim dinner was so memorable I would stop. You need to book as it books out quickly. You can email them and they may take a little while to respond but you will not be disappointed. Enjoy

    I was really well hydrated but suffered terrible blisters. My boots were worn in before trip. My travelling companion drinks very little and did not have blisters
