  1. See You Soon

    Inglés June 2-6

Enjoyed Betanzos so much I stayed two nights. Nice lunch specials and pintxos. About 1/2 mile before you enter the city walls - as you descend down the hill - there is a wonderful church and green space (on your right). Sat there for some meditation.
  2. See You Soon

    Giving Up on the Primitivo

Some clueless responses in here. "Geez, I could do it. Why couldn't you?" You must be great dinner conversation. Hope the Ingles is not too muddy for you.
  3. See You Soon

    Giving Up on the Primitivo

Enjoy the Ingles. Not many walkers but the towns and villages make up for that.
  4. See You Soon

Starting in Leon...accomodation and first day walking

Great town, beautiful churches, nice lunch specials.
  5. See You Soon

The earliest week that the trails are clear

Please give guestimates about the EARLIEST date /week you hikers have been able to safely walk the Norte. I expect the mud and a lack of services, BUT - - any ideas on when the best starting date from Santander would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and peace
  6. See You Soon

I didn't walk the whole Camino Ingles....

I hiked the Ingles and then spent a few months in A Coruna. Now I am missing that part of Spain (but not the pulpo).
  7. See You Soon

    How crowded is it.

Very humorous that people complaining about crowds rarely acknowledge they are part of this "problem"
  8. See You Soon

    Old guide or new?

Brierly was fine in October 2017. I spent an extra day in both Pontedueme and Betanzos just to enjoy the food and conversation. No problem finding beds on the CI.
  9. See You Soon

    Not getting it

    Marmite is always good
  10. See You Soon

    Pigs of Spain

If you hike the Ingles in October, the wild pigs will be running through the woods right near you. The hunters are nearby too.
  11. See You Soon

    Injury 24 hours before flight!

It is YOUR way. Redefine an preset parameters. Peace.
  12. See You Soon

    Suggestion for 6 day walk

    Camino Ingles
  13. See You Soon

Has anyone hiked during late Sept. / early October?

The Ingles in mid-October. There were a couple days I did not see anyone else during the walking portion of my day. It was nice to get to town (e.g. Betanzos) for a bed, glass of wine and food. Parts were muddy, and there were wild boar hunters, but beautiful temps and tranquility.
  14. See You Soon

    Brierly or no Brierly..

His guide for the Ingles was much appreciated. But it is a much more relaxed hike. People complain more (beds, hiking sticks, guidebooks, . . ..) when walking the crowded caminos.
  15. See You Soon

    Sticks or no sticks?

If you use sticks, please carry rubber tips so you are not clicking and clacking through city streets
  16. See You Soon

    albergues with children

Private rooms would be better (if not for you, then for your fellow pilgrims)
  17. See You Soon

    Getting passport in Ferrol?

You can pick up a passport from hotels/hostals in Ferrol.
  18. See You Soon

    A very peaceful walk
