Finally starting my 2nd camino on Wed, just 5 days to go, from SJPdP. Looking forward to a continued adventure and deeper understanding for the years ahead. Meeting exceptional people from all over the world along the path. Buen Camino
PerreGringo.
Last year on my Camino walk I met Sabbat, the most amazing Perrigrino during my journey. We had difficulties with language barriers but he was walking with his oldest of 10 grandchildren, Maria. Sabbat is my age and Maria usually walked faster but What A Blessing!!!! He is from Spain.
You will meet up with Pilgrims that start their walk days earlier and days later, as rest days can change who's on the camino trail with you. My first camino I had a 2 day bike ride from Burgos to Leon, and then walked with new Pilgrims. This May I will walk the entire CF just for another...
Very insightful and useful, Thanks Ghanem. Your advice covers all thats needed. I do add that my walk is about service and my daily reminder "The meaning of your life is to find your Gift......The purpose of your life is to give it Away". May your continued journeys be filled with understanding...
Great Advice, my days off are in larger towns, ie: Burgos, Leon Pamplona, etc something to do (without a full day of walking). Also when I am reaching a day with a long or higher climb (ie O'Cebreiro) I will walk farther to be closer to the climb, which saves energy from starting in a location...
I am booked on EB for 12:30 May 8th, last year only me then six others showed. You will have others at that time in sharing the ride expense. In the airport lobby look for the driver with sign EXPRESS Bouirrcot. Unfortunately those will other times or not scheduled will not go in van and are not...
You will catch me. I am taking my time and not rushing, walking the entire path (st J to Santiago) last may I had a 2 day bike ride through the meseta (30 days total). Slowing down is the only way to go!!!
My 2nd camino, first last yr May 2018. Walking from SJPDP to Santiago. I am thinking of walking to Muxia or Finistere after reaching Santiago. What do you think?
Walked from SJPdP to Leon and then finally emptied items of weight; lock and chain, large safari hat (don't ask), extra t-shirt and extra shorts. The idea was to lower the weight of the backpack by 30%. Six days before Santiago, I sprained my ankle and needed to have the bp transported by...
I do exactly the same from Houston, my last trip landed in Paris around 8:20 am and I had to hurry through gates and passport security to arrive at final boarding gate to Biarritz by 10 am (final check in time). Made It, Stress gone.
I have used the camelbak for seven (7) years on weekly bike rides 30-100 miles). I only fill it with purified water and have a small container with gatorade (needed to maintain electrolytes) or pickle juice. It does get hot in Houston's summers. Although I did not bring the bladder for my first...
I walked the CF May-June 2018 and will walk it again May 2019. I had knee issues when training 6 mos before the walk. The Ortho Surgeon injected the HA (both knees over 3 weeks) a month before my walk. I had no problem with knee issues (tested first day from St JPDP). I will have the injections...
I walked the Camino (SJPDP-Santiago) May9-June 10, 2018. Since I am of Medicare age, I had knee injections (synvisc) one month prior, so I was prepared to do the 790 KM. Unfortunately my last 6 days, descending from Triacastela too fast I sprained my right ankle. The next morning it was the size...
