I'm taking notes. It seems likely that My husband and I will be in Alicante over New Year's Eve,a nd I'm thinking about enticing him to walk just the first couple of days on this route. I've written to the local Amigos and asked about conditions, if it all seems too dire, we'll probably stay in...
The only "no room at the inn" story I can tell you ended at a very nice, but quite cheap hotel. We had a lovely dinner, did our laundry in the bath, and slept until 10 the next morning. Absolutely lovely.
A friend of mine ended up in a small village where all the inns were full - but the...
Our son was not quite 9 when we walked from Carrión de los Condes to Santiago (19 days) in 2005. He cried from exhaustion the first day, but from the third day on, he was running in front of us, talking to people, enjoying the landscapes and the food.

Our son is proudly stating that this time, he'll carry more than...
I would expect more people (especially bands of Spanish students) around Easter - April 1 to 5 in particular in 2010.
A lot of these youngsters (we met them both on the Camino Francés and on the Via de la Plata) were quite unprepared to walk, took the bus a lot, tried to party in the dorm...
Hello, I'm Heidi.
I walked from Carrión de los Condes to Santiago in April 2005 (and met Ivar!) along with my husband and our son, then 8 years old. The 405 kilometres took us 19 days. We enjoyed our walk immensely and decided we wanted to come back and walk more. (I think we met Javier Martín...
