Please does anyone know the first part of this route, from Arles? Looking at a map and Miam Dodo the route looks very quiet with little habitation. Is it very lonely, difficult to follow, and is accommodation very few and far between?

Thank you. Just concerned that I may not be able to open them as am only 4ft 10 in and last time I was with my tall son and I remember the opening mechanism being very high..
Has anyone walked the Le Puy route recently please? Have any improvements been made in the last 6-8 years to the path down to Monistrol or ease of opening gates on the Aubrac Plateau, for a very short person? I should love to hear from anyone who has done it recently.
