Not being up on all of the latest brand names, I was hoping to see a post about goats being available to rent to carry packs along the route. I should think this would be a favorable option...the counties would not have to maintain the brush along the side of the path, it would be a patient...
I should add that once I find the cheaper flight, if it is agreeable, I do find it on the airline site. The prices are the same, but the trend info is the useful part
Find an app that tracks purchasing trends. In previous years those apps told me to buy in Jan, then Dec and this year, now. I used Hopper. It has been reliable before. I am skeptical but it is saying now is cheapest option.
Can I recommend bringing chocolate covered espresso beans? Two of those first thing are loads better than sub par coffee, and are quite potent. And you can carry enough to last your trip. I am a teacher and call my coffee "Be nice to kids juice", so I can sympathize with those who really need...
When you have rested up in Leon, as advised earlier, count how many days you have and then calculate short days for yourself. So consider bussing again ahead to make your trek from here on out more relaxed so that you can meditate rather than suffer. Or, continue on to Astorga and rest there...

It is possible that you could do that busier section without meeting many if you sta in Casas far from the camino. If your travel agent can change a few accomodations ahead to albergues, and you leave earlier you will run into people.
This taping technique allowed me to walk, and actually allowed my foot to heal. I don't know what causedbyourbdaughters but the weight of the pack is at least aggravating it. Lighten that, a few days rest, and always have it taped. There were days when I showered with this tape on. Good luck.
On the night train from Santiago to Madrid, I was asleep in our room when one of the other women got up presumably to use the bathroom. She did not lock the door upon her return. I was just drifting off to sleep again and another person walked in, a man, and was searching around my daughter's...
This is a response to the "Buen Camino my arse" comment but not the technical aspects. I feel the pain. Having just recently experienced a day that seemed like a sitcom with a laugh track, I might suggest this: Do enjoy not having burnt the place down. Do enjoy that you get to explore Spain...
