Me too! We are on our way from Ribadeo to Lourenza. And while it’s been a bit easier since my original post, the demand is still very high. We were turned away from La Caridad and had to take a taxi back to Navia to stay the night. Then had to taxi back the next morning to start walking to...
Yes, thank you. We are in Pension Pozo tonight. Having trouble past tonight though. Yes, I am a Gronze veteran. One of the reasons I’m a bit shocked at the lack of availability…I know a lot of the tricks and resources! This is my 4th Camino, and the second on the Norte! :)
Is anyone else having trouble finding accommodation past Aviles? I’m walking now and the bed race can rival the Frances. Looking for something, anything for tomorrow night past Muros de Nalon and can’t find anything within 75km. Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
Well, it was very clear that Thursday and Friday you did have to enter to get get a cathedral stamp, and you did have to pay €4.
And I wasn’t the only pilgrim that had that experience.
Additionally, the first day, the gentleman on the left was even pretty disrespectful to me as I explained I only wanted the stamp, he interrupted me, shook his finger at me (side to side as to say “no no” like you would a child,) and pointed to the price admission sign taped to the window of his...
Yes…I made that very clear one the first day to a gentleman in the left side of the booth, then yesterday to a nice lady on the right side of the booth.
Well, I went back this morning and very clearly saw out in front, just to the left of the big (beautiful) hand-carved wooden doors, and where you enter the queue, an admissions sign that stated €4 for peregrinos. (The admission was €7 or €8 for adults, and there were other discounts for seniors...
Hello, Went to the Cathedral in Oviedo today. I wanted to get my stamp, but they wouldn’t let me in unless I paid the tourist entrance fee.
When I was here last year, pilgrims on the Camino were let in to the church for free to get their stamp…has this now changed?
Thanks for any insights on...
Hello, I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I can't find in the search. I'm landing at the Oviedo airport Thursday and need to make my way to Oviedo (downtown.) I'm seeing there's a bus direct from the airport, but when I try to buy tickets, I receive the message "no tickets available...
I was there last august (alone) and was stuck at the Boo train stop. Couldn’t figure out how to buy a ticket. No machine, no station person, nothing.
Watched about 10 trains go by in an hour or so, waiting for someone, anyone that I could ask help how to buy a ticket without any luck at all...
Yeah, I did the purgatory route from Irun to San Sebastián last year. That’s why this elevation profile really confused me. I think I just need to find a better one and listen to the good advice and experience on this thread. Thanks for the advice and help!
