We are starting our Camino in Matasinhos on saturday 5th may.
Good advice as where to stay, where NOT to stay, must sees, preferred routes etc will be much appreciated!
Thank you!
(now I have found some threads here - I am OK - my questions have been answered already (almost)...
So - you see - there are probably just as many good answers as there are pilgrims...
I took a silk liner and a sleeping bag. Sent my sleeping bag home from Burgos. Then it got really cold! So I had a few nights where I was freezing. Bought a fleece blanket and was ok.
This was from 15th...

Hi Clarissa!
What do you mean by "backdrop" of my homepage? Is it the page light blue with stars you mean? or the photo I encluded? If you give me your e-mail I could send it to you.
No, at the pickture I am on my first Camino and it is not the backpack I had last time. I will take a pickture...
Dear Clarisa!
The first time I walked the Camino was a year after breastcancer diagnosis. Together with my daughter I walked the last 110 km from Sarria to Santiago (in oct,). It was probably the greatest achievement of my life I thought then... I was so impressed by the people I met who had...
Hello Adelaide woman!
I did the Camino (for the 3rd time) in august 2006 I was 58 then - and because I did a lot of practising the last 3 months prior to the Camino everything turned out just fine. No injuries whatsoever. I used 40 days to reach Santiage from SJPdP incl. 2 days rest.
I envy...
12 days..
Dear Susan
12 days is not much time and only 8 to walk - I had 7 days a couple of years ago and started in Sarria (110 km from Santiago). This was a wonderful choice - we walked in oktober and did the distance in 5 days...

Thanks to all who have taken the time to answer me. We have now decided to take the Route Napoleon if weather permits - and to stay the first night(from the 16th to 17th august) in Orisson ( have already booked two beds!).
My backpack is ready now and weighs 9.1 kilos (without water that is)...
How fit is fit?
Thank you for your advice - now we have decided to take the route Napoleon - and only the weather can keep us from that...
We start our Camino on the 16th of August from SJPdP - hope to see some of you guys!!
Lots of love to all.

We are starting off from SJPP on the 15th of august - (is that a public holiday?) and we cannot make up our minds which way to go. We are a little "frightened" by so many saying that the route Napoleon is very hard... We are not top athletes though..
Would anyone give us a good advice? We...
Two years ago I went from Santiago to Sarria by bus. First to Lugo where there was a bus change and then on to Sarria. We took the bus very early from Santiago airport - about 6 oclock but I am sure there are some later ones as well.
Bon voyage and bon Camino!
Anne-Marie
