    A Tiny Bottle of Liquid

Put at it's simplest, in Europe, the 1 litre/1 US quart transparent bag can contain liquids/gels/pastes up to 100ml/0.1 US quart for each item. My experience is that occasionally some people have more than one transparent bag (for example a LOT of makeup) and don't get into trouble as long as...

LIVE from the Camino Our Vegemite only lasted 1400km

Hillwalking in Ireland in cold weather - the thermos contains Bovril in preference to milky tea (probably need a separate thread to discuss tea...)

On Camino again doing first aid

I used my antiseptic cream for the first time this year on a Romanian infected blister. Meanwhile slightly off-topic, I would love to see a photo of your Berlingo set-up. There are many conversion set-ups out there but none I have seen with a loo! I am soon to do the same with my Berlingo.

This is how I feel about Spanish food (sorry)

Celebrated the completion of the Camino Inglés with an amazing meal in Casa Marcelo. Included was this Scorpion fish for 4 to share. "eat all of it or no dessert!" Apart from the white bones in the spine... Nicely crunchy.

Finished my Camino, but not done walking

Sorry PB, for my inadequate reply on the Irish Way. This is a brand new compilation of trails so it is difficult to find any ratings, and I got the page from Facebook connection to Irish Hillwalking. If you choose Ireland, and I would also recommend the Kerry Way, http://www.kerryway.com/ which...

Finished my Camino, but not done walking

I think most of us in Ireland have only just discovered this Way! I knew about some sections but joining them up is impressive. I will report back in three years time.

Finished my Camino, but not done walking

Apart from the Kerry Way, there are many others, now written up in a single guide (that I have not read). The routes and the book can be discovered at http://www.theirelandway.ie/

    Time Zones...

Where I grew up in Ireland in the 60s, our local priest decreed that our parish would remain 'on God's time' and masses were at the same time year round - no daylight saving in summer. Every time you made an appointment, you just added 'old time 'or 'new time'. Simple! Although the border...

What about ATM´s fees and exchange rates?

Transferwise works for me because I have accounts in more than one currency and using it gets the best rates. I can transfer funds into euros before traveling in the euro zone. I also pay bills in different currencies routed through Transferwise. Revolut is a payment method where you set up an...

What about ATM´s fees and exchange rates?

I can recommend two web based services that have worked for me. https://transferwise.com and revolut.com. You would need to have set these up in advance.

    Peaceloving American...

There's an 'America' in Ireland, west of the village of Cong on the border between the counties of Mayo and Galway.

    The most emotional place?

As a part-timer pilgrim still working, with two separate week walks over two years, the Camino takes longer to permeate. For me, my last day of my second year coming down to Burgos, just off a cloudy Matagrande, suddenly a hymn from school 40 years ago popped into my head - and I sang loudly on...
