That daily shower scramble - a different viewpoint

Had been available in colors. Now only available in white. Soap inside end pockets for the sake of the picture. When using, you only need soap in the center pocket as the other two are used as a washcloth.

That daily shower scramble - a different viewpoint

I designed and invented a product I call the Exfoliating Soap Pocket Shower Buddy. (Shower Buddy for short.) It has three pockets that are each roughly 4" x 6" that open/close with Velcro. It has 8" looped polypro rope handles at each end and is about 32" long end to end. I used it on my...

I caught the Camino virus 4 years ago, and I still have it.

Good place to explore. Be mindful of ticks while hiking and mice getting into your food while sleeping. Lots of good info available re both on the web.

ATM fees - which ones are a rip-off?

If you open an account with Charles Schwab, you can get their credit card that will work at an ATM. They do not charge ATM fees. If you do get charged, CS will reimburse you at the end of the month.

What to make for a pilgrim

If it is absorbent, it could be used as a towel. If it is mesh, it could be used as a veil held in place on your head by your hat, to keep annoying insects away.

    Looking for tile souvenir

The tile broke in such a way that it makes it look like the pilgrim is walking uphill. Since much of the way is uphill, the crack lends authenticity to the way. Glue it.

How to train for downhill walking

There were sections of downhill walking that I did walking backwards. You need to be mindful of each step and keep looking over your shoulder, but it is possible to do and do it safely. I used my poles as well. Lots easier on the knees and toes.

Thanks. I'm still learning how to use the Brierley guide. Have made the notation. Appreciate your help.

    What else do I need?

If you are traveling alone, you may want to create an "in case of emergency, open this" device. A clear plastic pouch of some sort on the lanyard of your choosing could work well. Inside the pouch you can insert a piece of paper that will identify you, DOB and country of birth, blood type, any...

    ATM FEES

If you can open an account with Charles Schwab, they reimburse all fees paid. They do this monthly at the end of the month. I saw that posted somewhere on this site some time ago. I opened an account with them and was told this is true.

Tales of love found on the Camino??

This isn't really the kind of love story she was seeking, but there is no denying that these two men, who have known each other from birth, know what true love is. You were fortunate to meet them, and they you.

Tales of love found on the Camino??

If you want a story about love, read I'LL PUSH YOU. If you want to know what it is about, go into YouTube and search I'LL PUSH YOU. There is a terrific 1 hour video (approximately) filmed at Calvin College where Justin and Patrick talk about their trip. Justin is in a wheel chair and Patrick...

My dogs are up for it but i think the people dont want them there

I enjoy the occasional contact with a dog as much as anyone. They can bring a smile to one's face and be calming and relaxing. They can also be unpredictable and become aggressive for no apparent reason. It is for that reason that I would rather not see dogs on the Camino.

    Credencial Questions

If you carry a guide book, and want stamps for more places than actually required, you could always have the page for your current location stamped. Might not be pretty, but once you reach your destination, you don't need the guide to tell you where you are. Don't know if the folks in Santiago...
