I did Villafranca to O Cebreiro on a very rainy day in mid May. The worse part was the muddy sections that also got turned up by the cattle that also used the trail.
It was a long slow day but I got to the municipal in O Cebreiro just as they opened.
It's definitely a doable walk and probably...
Just after 9am this morning I turned the last corner of the Camino Frances and stood in front of the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela!!
It's been 33 days since I left Saint Jean Pied de Port and it felt very surreal to be standing at that end point.
This was an awesome adventure and looking...
I haven't booked ahead at all and have gotten a bed everytime I've walked into town. There is a lot of panic happening concerning beds though. Ive listened to people at the albergues and many are spending their time calling ahead. I think, in my case anyway, it's been unnecessary. I think people...
Currently in Fromista about 32 miles from the halfway point of the Frances!
Did approx 22 miles today. Going to have a shorter day tomorrow. Life is great on the Camino for this Pilgrim! Only 1 rain day but mornings have been pretty chilly. Mid 40's F. Glad I brought my hat and gloves!
Meeting...
I thought I replied to this but it apparently didn't take! I brought my 45 degree sleeping bag and that's been fine for me. For the mornings which have been chilly, I would recommend bringing a warm had and gloves. Not ski gloves but something to protect you from the wind and morning chill.
Experienced the first day of rain so far. It was mostly light but it lasted most of the day. Made the air a bit chilly but tolerable. I went from Manero to Villamayor today. Spent most of the day alone! Even got to enjoy the wine fountain in Irache by myself!
Beun Camino!!
I took Nepoleon. It's open but the few days before I started there was heavy rain and visibility was nothing! I've met several people that went over the day before me and they say it was terrible!
Left Saint Jean this morning at 7am. Got to Roncesvalles just before 1:30. Weather was clear and beautiful!
I didn't pre book, and was able to get a bed. I did hear they were all full by 4pm though.
Very happy with my first day on the Camino!
