Must stop places VdlP
As well as the places mentioned, at Oriense on the Camino Sanabrés you can enjoy the hot springs. There's little tourist train you can catch out and back again. I also spent an extra night in Mérida to see all the Roman ruins and museum and Salamanca to soak up the atmosphere.- PaulG

Suddenly solo on the VdlP
I walked along this route 2 years ago and I would say that 90% of pilgrims have zero or almost zero knowledge of Spanish. I didn’t see that many lone woman walkers but the ones I did meet didn’t seem to have any concerns about safety. Also chances are you’ll meet up other pilgrims in the first...- PaulG

VDLP in October - Too cold?
I'm currently walking the VDLP and I've just headed west on the Sanabrés from Granja. The weather is not too bad - today was 14 degrees C and overcast but it's forecast to warm up in a few days. All the albergues are open and most nights there are 4 - 10 pilgrims. You can see lots of photos...- PaulG
