Feedback on packing would be (really) appreciated.

Pack looks good. I'd add some paracetamol or ibuprofen to the first aid kit. Review the pack as you go along, if your not using something ship or donate it.

How many miles to put on your shoes before the Camino

Depends on type of "shoe". My last two Camino walks from Porto (Central & Coastal) I walked mainly in a lightweight pair of HOKA's switching to leather walking boots on the occsional rainy day or over rough terrain. Breaking in the HOKA's was minimal, really comfortable from day 1. Breaking in...

Osprey Tempest- what am I doing wrong?

If you decide to change brands try the Deuter Futura 26. My wife just couldn't get on with the Osprey and changed to the Deuter only a few days before her camino from SJPdP. It fitted like a glove from day 1 and stil gives her no issues.

Need help cutting down on gear/weight in my pack 🙏

Your right, there is a ton of info on the threads about lightweighting, and two things are always apparent after much debate on the forum. Firstly your packing list is personal, what you decide is essential someone else my consider it excessive. Secondly, once you start lugging and using your...

    How to get weight down

Plenty of good advice already. Also.....good suncream can be used as moisturiser and lip balm. Can't praise the humble ziplock bag enough (ditch the Tupperware) probably one of most useful item on the Camino. Didn't see you mention tissues, so add those to your list. If you want moist tissues as...

    Packing for the Walk

Be interested to hear how your pack "develops" after you've been on the Camino for a week. Please give us an update in due course. I've got money on a new back pack, a large single water bottle and sunscreen being added. Don't for get sunscreen is also a good skin moisturiser, great for aching...

    Packing for the Walk

Don't get me started, I could bore you for hours with tales about Label anti-rub panels, Directional oven heat and best of all the Wandering Nipple.

    Packing for the Walk

Sounds like you've given everything a lot of thought. One last tip if your counting the grams, a one 1 litre PET bottle will weigh less than your three milk bottles. And Still water bottles weigh less than Sparkling water bottles, although Sparkling water bottles are more robust and have a...

    Yet another sleeping bag question!

Agree with above Decathlon is good, but not that many stores in UK. You could try Go Outdoors, wide range in our local store. I'd go for the "best" you can afford in terms of weight, compressibility and warmth. Unfortunately, these features come at a cost. Also, compressibility usually only...

    Packing for the Walk

Plenty of good advice on this thread, especially agree with cutting out one phone, camera, also the battery back up (if your phone has a decent battery) and excess headwear. Take plenty of ziplock bags, best multi-purpose item in my pack. Don't underestimate water requirement, minimum for me is...

    Running shoes, not trail runners

We have been on the Portuguese Camino for a few days now, started in Porto, currently in Barcelos. Wearing Hoka One Ones, Arahi 4's on advice of wife and many Australians met on previous Camino's. So far the are great, planning to wear lightweight boots when ground gets a little rough in a few days.

    Running shoes, not trail runners

Hi, walked previously with lightweight gortex lined walking boots for wet days and Merrells for the dryer days. Feet ached and had a few manageable blisters. So, next Camino (From Porto starting Friday) I'm changing to Hoka Arahi 4's (Very little tread but nice wide sticky sole), a pair of great...
