We each take a microwave cup, a small bowl with a tight lid, a spork, and a pocket knife. The bowl is uselful for taking leftovers on the trail. Obviously, other folks might not find these to be needed, but we find them worth the few ounces.

@alansykes specifically mentions that part of the reason he enjoys the technology is his choice of walking less travelled Camino routes. I agree with this 100%. On the VdlP, I found my tablet very useful; as a file cabinet for my maps, guide books, reading books for when I was alone, GPS, etc...
Just confirming what others have said, the Altus alone will result in wet socks and feet due to the dripping water (in a heavy rain). Extra long rain pants do act as gators, so that is what I like. Each person has their own preference when it comes to raingear. Buen Comino!

Spring weather can be unpredictable. There will be very warm (high 20s C) days and near freezing mornings. Snow is not likely, but certainly possible. Be prepared and Buen Camino.
