    Lonely Walking Now

I walked the Le Puy in August in 2019. I was lonely not because there weren't many people, but because almost all of the walkers weren't pilgrims but French walkers that were on vacation and didn't want anything to do with me, and couldn't or wouldn't understand my poor French. BTW...don't go...

Did you meet "The One" on the Camino

I don't think that I would want to find that on the camino. I am in a state of reverie there....everything is perfect to me.....no hassles, no bills to pay, no garbage to take out....both literally and figuatively...no work or job. Your only "job" is to wake up in the morning, put on your...

Why do pilgrims carry on when it is really hard?

I for one am not religious but have a deep spiritual connection with God as I know the Oneness and Power of this Spirit. Walking the Camino connects me to the larger arena of people and places in that power, love and peace. There is no noise from my busy life in Seattle, no To Do lists, no...

    Low airfares

    Feels Like a Lost Year

    Goat & Sheep cheese?

Basque cheese is said to be the best goat and sheep cheese in the world. BTW....there are pictures on the animal which it comes from on most of the cheese packaging....which makes it easier to buy! I am one of those who did the Camino carrying fresh bread from the panaderias and fresh cheese...

Another stone for the Cruz de Ferro

I hate to be a wet blanket, and the poetry is wonderful. I found out that they regularly bulldoze the stuff around the Cruz de Ferro. I mention this because I left a crystal for my deceased mother there. If I had known that, I would have rather left it somewhere that either could be found by a...
