I schedule rest days or very short days (10-12km) to have time in interesting towns/cities but roughly every 10-14 days. I usually stay in a private room those days. Regenerates my energy and motivation.
Thank you Peter, yes 3 days more and my regular “happy” meter will read “joyfully happy”. My prayers on this Camino has been answered and I return to Ottawa with a heart full of hope and a deeper faith. Thank you for the kind words, Colette
You walked in summer, at this time (since Oct 31st) very little open except in big towns.
It’s off season and two days now there are zero services and sometimes zero people all day. I’m almost done so I’m sure all will work out.
Yes officially it’s 2 sellos/day from the last 100 km given the Compostela is given for only the LAST 100km not for distance. Anyway, I managed more than 2 today.

TOPIC NOW CLOSED: close to 1700 km from Le Puy (with 2 additional variant routes) + CF to Ponferrada + Camino de Invierno (I’m on the last 100 km of the C de Invierno now). It’s impossible to get 2 stamps per day between Rodiero and Lalin (I got one at the Carpintieras Albergue today upon...

I normally walk off seasons (mid October to early April). The Podiensis is a totally different story, sept is bush and you really will enjoy the first month if you reserve ahead (September is a peak
season and the French walkers are many). In Roncesvalles 3 nights ago there...
Thanks for the tip as I’m on the Frances in Pamplona after walking the Podiensis, it’s too busy for my liking right now so if albergues are open on the Invierno I may consider that route to Santiago.
It’s to donate at the cathedral as a prayer. I’ve had it happen on 3 caminos. I speak Spanish and all 3 people asked me specifically to donate it at the cathedral and pray for a person (they gave me their name which I wrote down). What an honour!
I’m available as of Feb 15th to volunteer as a hospitalera of a smaller albergue or help out for a up to 2 weeks anywhere. I am in southern Spain on the coast currently, have a car and traveling with my older hound. I don’t have the official “training” but have a lot of life experience that I...
