What do you normally do - Carry backpack or use transport service?

Why not close the thread to replies if you don't want people to clarify their poll response?

Tradition…. When to start wearing your scallop shell?

I didn't get mine until Pradela but would have happily worn it before then. Will have to steal it back from my niece if I do another Camino.

bed bug spray made with lavender.

Seems like the burden of proof should be on those who are proposing bedbug "solutions." I imagine many things would deter the wee critters in a lab, so I'd mostly be interested in field trials.

bed bug spray made with lavender.

Yes, this! It's so frustrating to hear people say that they "have never had a problem with bedbugs." People who react to bites are at least likely to notice and take appropriate measures. If you've spent a lot of time on Camino and "never had a problem," you might just be the bedbug Typhoid...

El descanso de San Juan San Juan de Ortega, Nov 2021 This was one of my most fun stops during two weeks of walking. It seemed that every pilgrim in the vicinity was sitting outside enjoying the sunshine with an afternoon beverage and snack. The break was also perfectly timed to see me through...

Nájera, Nov 2021 I thought these arrows leading through the passageway were fun.

On the Camino: One Day at a Time, one Photo at a Time 8.0

Just before Navarrete Nov 2021 Although I was dreading any more asphalt after the long slog into and out of Logroño, walking through this highway construction project was pretty interesting, and I appreciated how well the temporary route was marked.

@VNwalking Pretty sure this is the same tree on the approach and after the field was ploughed post harvest (definitely my first photo after leaving Rabé de las Calzadas) 😊 Certainly does catch one's attention out there all by itself!

Ermita San Miguel between Villatuerta and Estella Nov 2021 Was delighted to walk around the far side and find it open. Very peaceful feeling inside, especially with the gusty wind outside.

Obligatory Alto del Perdón Pilgrim Shot Nov 2021 I was feeling very cheerful at that point because, given the name, I was assuming the path would climb over the high point to the left as I approached the ridge, so the much shorter ascent to the saddle was a happy surprise.

Running a donativo albergue - seeking advice on rules & laws

I'm sure you are planning to do this anyway, but just a reminder to check with a local lawyer to verify anything you read here, and most importantly, to let us all know where you end up so we can come stay with you on our next camino. :)

    I have lost myself

Haven't read all the replies but just wanted to tell you how deeply this resonates with me. My life's dream was to travel the world, which I never expected to actually have the opportunity to do. When a combination of privilege and thoughtful decisions enabled me to globetrot for most of my...
