I see that you are from the Netherlands. would you camp in the countryside if you were hiking there? why consider it in Portugal?

we do not know if this is the case of @countryroads and without further info, the comparison is unfair.
being 16, you will need a written document with the consent of your parents or guardians ~ make sure to have this in Spanish.

There are more Caminos than the one to Santiago, and not all of them are pilgrimages.
Perhaps the so-called Caminos Naturales could be of interest to you? They are part of the rural development in Spain. In March, I probably would visit the south and enjoy the landscape...
