On my Blog Pilgrimage and Place I just placed an item on Nature.
Several views (and little movies) on nature as a place to walk, bike or stay.
Have a look at what nature does for the brain,
find out if nature is right for you,
know about this nature practice: shinrin-yoku?,
enjoy a nature...
In a socialmedia group someone asked a simple question, leading to interesting answers.
How long between your idea of walking the Camino
to actually doing it?
Thank you for idea Robert Altenbaugh
In contemporary society pilgrimage is growing to be a widely used word.
It already was a word for walking or non-walking (like Lourdes) events.
Now you can encounter a wine-pilgrimage, food pilgrimage, pilgrimage to cemeteries (like Pere Lachaise, Jim Morrison), pilgrimage to sites like...
Enjoyed 'Wild'?

From physical point of view a 17 year can walk the camino alone.
From social point of view is depends on how you are!
From security point of view you're ok I think.
'Organizationalwise' it should also go fine.
And you still have a year to grow!
So, buen camino!
In recent times the outdoors is a returning theme in some very nice movies and documentaries. I gathered some of them on this page. Some of them on the Camino trails, some in the USA and some of them in Australia, the UK or in the desert.
About endurance, emotion and beauty; profound and funny...
Perhaps sometimes people just want to express their ego, provoke others.
Sometimes people want their opinions or experiences to be the thruth, and nothing but..
I think the tourist-pilgrim dichotomy isn't real in most cases. Sometimes I perform as perhaps 'a pilgrim' would, sometimes however the...
Last months I searched and researched a lot and found many (to me) relevant literature/articles regarding pilgrimage/camino/experience.
Wow, indeed the more you know, the more you know how little you know.
Just some remarks...
Think of difference Erlebnis und Erfahrung, experience in English is...
Camino del Norte, about 800km, Camino Portugues about 600km (from Lissabon, 225 from Porto)
As peregrina2000 says Portugues is crowded starting from Porto.
Regarding 'touristic influence' from low to high: Portugues Lissabon to Porto, DelNorte/Primitivo variant, Del Norte, Portugues Porto to...
As I'm walking a camino at this moment, I don't have access to my digital brain.
I know of a phd project on pilgrimage and therapy, a recent book on transformational tourism by Reisinger ed., many articles on the subject from Garth Lean, etc.
But at the moment I'm planning on where to eat in the...
Well,
I would say, being Christian on the camino is like being Christian at home!
No need to let others tell you how you should behave and act. You already know!
Perhaps you'll come closer to 'the self', helping your beliefs.
Don't let others tell you, find out yourself (As the Buddha said...
