    Snoring in albergue!

I know I sometimes snore, especially when I am tired, which is probably every night on the Camino. For my second Camino I started trying to book private rooms in Pensions and hostels, and to avoid the "Bed Race" I would book many of these options months ahead of time. It is more expensive, but...

    Burst my camino bubble.

The challenges are part of the journey on the Camino. My first time on the Camino, I realized very early (on my first day) that the Camino isn't a leisurely stroll down a nicely paved and flat sidewalk:) It's not easy and the best advice I can give someone, is to listen to your body and don't...

    Dazed or confused after Camino?

Hi Joe, What you are feeling is normal. The Camino is sometimes romanticized and may be looked at by some as a means to figure out your life or gain direction. I was guilty of thinking that way on my first Camino, I thought I would come back from this amazing adventure in Spain and I would...

LIVE from the Camino Snoring revisited

Another tip----I used headphones and my "White Noise" app on my phone -- works much better than ear plugs. :)

LIVE from the Camino Snoring revisited

I don't want to be an alburgue snob, but I know I snore sometimes, so I always book a private room at the alburgues or pensions. It's better for me and for all the other innocent pilgrims around me. I don't want to be "THAT GUY" ;)

    Yikes, people

;) This reminds me of an article a friend sent me, she was thinking of doing the Camino, and came across the article while searching the internet for info. It was titled "Ten Reasons NOT to do the Camino de Santiago". I laughed as I read it. It touched on snoring people, the hot weather...

Begging for money along the camino

I have never been asked for money on the Camino. I did notice a couple of people along the way selling beverages/snacks and asking for donations. I was happy to give the $, especially the couple that were at the start of the climb up O'Cebreiro! :)

Arriving to Compostela - then what?

Awesome! Good luck. I'm heading back to Spain in September- walking from Burgos to Ponferrada. It's the only stretch I haven't walked.

Arriving to Compostela - then what?

I spent 5 days in Santiago de Compostela after my first Camino two years ago. I stayed in a nice hotel for $60 a night, did all my laundry at a nearby laundry mat, toured the cathedral, went to 2 pilgrim services, walked around the city and sampled some great food and wine, met some awesome...

    Eating in Roncesvalles

Stay at La Posada and schedule dinner and breakfast at check in. It's easy, reasonably priced and it's awesome!
