Good for you! I celebrated my 70th by walking the Camino in 2017. If the good Lord spares me I will do a section of it to celebrate my 80th. Buen Camino.
Hi,
I have walked two Caminos and I walked each day with the thought that ‘The Lord will provide.’ On both, I never had any difficulty in finding a bed. However on my second Camino I used a combination of albergues and hotels. It is nice every few days to have your own room and a shower/ bath...
A couple of things:
If you are going to start that early please, please be kind to still sleeping pilgrims and your noise down to a minimum.
Coffee is important to the Spanish do I reckon by 6 - 6:30 you should find a coffee.
Finally look out for some spectacular sunrises!
Buen Camino!
On my two Caminos in 2008 and 2017, I always looked forward to that first morning cup of coffee after getting some 10k under my belt. I never had a bad cup! They know how to make good coffee in Spain! Add to the coffee a delicious Pain au chocolat…. Heaven!
I walked the Camino alone in 2008. It was amazing! Also I meet and made so many Camino friends along the way. I found most pilgrims were quite happy when I said I now wish to walk alone.
In 2017 I walked it with my brother in law…. equally amazing!
A smile on your face, an open and curious outlook is for a great start. Good idea to stay in an Albergue that offers a communal evening meal..... if not available offer with some other pilgrim to share a meal together.
On the Camino you may walk alone, but you are not alone.
Buen Camino!
On my two Camino’s I have always headed to the shower in the clothes I have walked in (minus boots and socks!)....showered, dry off and on with fresh clothes then off to wash the clothes I have walked in! Never had a problem. Cheers!
Hi, I have recently completed my virtual Camino. Having walked the Camino twice it was lovely to remember all the villages and towns along the way. Hopefully will be back on the Camino next year.
