    I would equate walking with moving one’s body on a relatively flat and short surface while hiking, IMHO, would have to do with duration and various different terrain.

    I carry magdelenas and instant coffee in « barettes » (coffee packaged in strips that one can open at the top or bottom) and when really needed, added to hot sink water for a cup of instant coffee. Hey, one does what he needs to do…with the elements.

    I assume from your post that you walked it. Did you do all 88 temples? How long did it take? Did you need a special Japanese visa to stay there? So many questions….
