Do ladies pee in the woods? I think we know the answer.

Re the post by Tincatinker about mixed gender toilets. I was on a coach trip in Spain a few years ago and booked for a tour of Granada including a visit to The Alhambra. It was quite a large coach and the tour was a long one, so by the time we came to the gardens and the toilets everyone wanted...

    Useful Spanish Words/Phrases

Slightly off subject .I did about 8 years evening classes in Spanish and at one time spoke it quite well. I was outside a bar in Tarragona and finally managed to get the waitress's attention. Anyway she brought my coffee and brandy. I asked her what should I call her (meaning her name)...

Hi Lance, that is a great tip. Don't want to waylay your thread, but it reminded me of a tip that I put on some years ago and some newcomers may not have see. Why so many green doors in Spain?

Slightly off topic. When I was in Norwaway. I noticed that most houses and all barn doors were painted red. Was told that the first paint invented was white and that locals used blood from a slaughtered beast (for eating) to colour the paint red.

    Spanish speaker please

Incidentally, as we know other nationalities are much better at languages than us, lazy English. When I first spoke to the owner's son (owner mentioned above) he was just 7. At school he spoke Menorquin or Catalan. He was learning Castiliano and English. I was going to try to learn Catalan but...

    Spanish speaker please

Hi Linkster. I had been learning Spanish for a couple of years at nightschool, but kept my secret hidden. We visited some friends that we have on Menorca for a 2 week holiday. What's the least daily distance feasible?

First of all, I would suggest that you start in Spain, maybe Pamplona, to miss out the "over the mountain"route. Then consider getting a taxi or bus on any day when you have to walk further than you would like. you have the time ,would a lift now and again spoil your trip?

which restaurants or eating places would you recommend on the Camino Frances

Highly recommended. Cafe Iruna in Pamplona. Great choice of menu. You used to get a free bottle of house red with each meal if that turns you on. I can't say for sure that this continues today, but they had been doing it for a long while in 2012.
