I feel I need to add my two pennyworth to this thread.
I walked my first Camino, CF, Roncesvalles to SDC in 2021 aged 68. I started by carrying my backpack all 5kg of it but soon decided to take advantage of the transfer service, not all of the time there were places I stayed that didn't accept...
In 2021 I met a guy in El Acebo de San Miguel who just kept walking. He had been on the road for a couple of years. He recognised my accent and asked where I was from I told him the nearest city and he said he came from a village near there. I ask him which village and he said the village I grew...
I agree with the majority of the posters here. I also leave more than a municipal in the donation box. I have also seen people who are much better off than me (by talking to them and the expensive wine they drink) leave just 2 euro in the box. I have also stayed at donatives with a fixed...
I wear bright coloured trousers and sew buttons onto my tops and anything that could be mistaken for someone elses. This seems to work. I don't worry to much about my shoes as I have got very small feet and anyone taking them by mistake would soon find out they weren't theirs.
I voted other I dont fit into any of the boxes. I walked my first CF in 2021 aged 68. I carried my pack about a third of the time. I started off carrying it but when I saw people a lot younger than me having their packs transferred I thought why not? I did stay in quite a few municipals and that...
I walked my first Camino September 21 at 40 years older than you. I walked solo and never felt unsafe. I walked at a slow pace mainly on my own. I started at first light sometimes with other people but often slowed down as they were walking to fast for me. I did often meet up with people on the...
I walked the Frances last year and agree it is a great first time Camino you are never alone even last year when there were fewer pilgrims. I understand you want to keep your parents on board I was the same with my daughter although at 68 I was going to go whatever. I worked hard to get her to...
I did it this year and assistance was on hand, I needed it. The big problem was although I had put my language as English the question what country are you from had a drop down box with the answers in Spanish. I hope this is not the same on the online one. I will need to learn what England...
I am on the Camino now. This is my first Camino so I can't compare with a precovid Camino. My plan was to carry my backpack all the way and stop when I needed to. In reality I found carrying my backpack to difficult and I have booked ahead because you need a reservation for them to accept your...

I hope it does refresh as I am in Bulgaria until 19th August when I hope to travel to Spain.
