    Desktop Computer Availability in Albergues

The heaviest item in my backpack each Camino is my journal. I do not enjoy writing using my laptop/ipad/Remarkable as much as on paper with my special pen. My journal was soaked through on Camino #6. Flipping through those pages now, seeing how the ink spread across those wet papers, and feeling...

    What surprised you the most?

After three debilitating knee injuries over six Caminos (one that put me on crutches for 200 kms), my physiotherapist described a "walker's high" that enabled me to walk through the pain. She compared it to the "runner's high" or Zone. Interesting.

Tell me your “everything is going haywire on my Camino” stories

I’m sidelined with knee damage suffered on the downhill from Alto del Perdón. I made it to Uterga where Noelia took care of me for two nights (!) at Albergue Camino del Perdón. My pride pushed me to walk to Puente la Reina where I am again bed-ridden with a swollen knee and leg. The upside...

Tradition…. When to start wearing your scallop shell?

Very interested, and Hamilton is much closer. Less time in QEW traffic, too. Thank you for this.

Tradition…. When to start wearing your scallop shell?

Wish I'd known! I leave for Camino #6 in three weeks. The Toronto Camino Community is likely the closest to my home in St. Catharines, and it would have been nice to connect with pilgrims and participate in the shell ceremony. (Or at least observe.)

    Intense heatwave

QUOTE"Checking in from Los Arcos. Arrived at 12pm after 6 hours 45 minutes of walking. Last time I walked this stretch was 2011 and it was nice to see again. Some changes, new water fountain in the middle of nowhere... helpful in 37 degrees Celcius heat. Feeling it right now, in bed resting...

    Post-Camino Withdrawal Syndrome

I found myself longing for yellow arrows and shells after returning from my second Camino about a month ago. The solution? A bit of yellow paint, a small brush, an unsightly slab of rock at the end of my driveway, and...Voilà! The Camino comes to St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. It helps. :D

What Do You Do When You Are Not Walking?

Keep in mind that I'm leaving on June 28th for SJPdP, so everything I read here is flavoured with dreams of and planning for my upcoming journey. I thought the OP brought her Bratz dolls and craft equipment with her on the Camino...to work with "when she wasn't walking." I wondered how many...

    Inspiring Quotations

I share this beautiful quotation by Carlos Castaneda from The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge so others can be inspired. My hope is you will share the words that move your heart, your feet, and your spirit along The Way. "For me there is only the traveling on paths that have...
