Thank you Ken for sharing with us your amazing experiences on your recent Camino and some of your personal reflections. This has then turned into a very good thread of posts.
We were fortunate to start walking Caminos in 2014 and can relate to many of your feelings that you experienced.
We are...
We stayed at Pension Fernandez last year, June, 2022, it was very comfortable and as previously mentioned quiet, as away from the main road. We also got a clothes peg!
Here’s the view from our bedroom window.
We stayed in Calzadilla de Los Hermanillos both in 2014 on our first Camino Frances and last year 2022 on our second Camino Frances. We wanted to stay there again because we really enjoyed the walk and staying at Via Trajana. The family who own and run Via Trajana welcomed us back with open arms...
It is very difficult to photograph. Our other photos have our reflection in them. Here is our attempt in May 2022. As Bradypus says it’s in the ambulatory behind the main altar. You have to pay to have it illuminated for a short period.
Hi, we stayed at Auberge Beilari for two nights in May this year. Saturday and Sunday, we were the only ones staying on the Sunday night but it wasn’t a problem. We had the communal dinner on the Saturday evening and because they don’t do dinner on the Sunday evening we went out for a meal. But...
We have stayed at Hotel Notres y Londres twice, in 2014 and again this year. We really like it. It’s central and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Here are our two pictures of the same monolith taken this year in May, 2022.
The second looking back at it. About 30 minutes apart.
We really enjoyed walking the alternate route to Los Arcos via Luquin. A small number of pilgrims went the same way. The views were wonderful.
But we can’t help...
Hi JustJack,
Wifi is very common in all types of accommodation and most cafes along the way. We actually didn’t stay in any Municipal Albergues, a number haven’t reopened yet since COVID. Wifi passwords are usually posted on the wall somewhere in cafes but you can always ask if you can’t see it...
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful Camino experience with us all. We got goosebumps listening to your recording of the choir at lunchtime. How amazing to hear them again.
Wishing you all the very best and safe journey home.
Ultreia and Buen Camino.
We had a great stay in Albergue Maralotx in September, 2014 and we were looking forward to staying there again last year, all booked 😞but sadly COVID intervened. We are hopeful to be staying there again in 2022. It’s a lovely Albergue.
Thank you for all the photos, they bring back great memories.
Buen Camino didi2L. Thank you for all this information. Glad you are enjoying walking and meeting some people. Have a very Happy St James Feast Day on the Camino.
These are our pictures of this same climb up to the Meseta from Castrojeriz. The first was taken at 06.08hrs and the second at 07.29hrs. We walked this on 10th, September, 2014, the weather was very hot, so we decided to leave Castrojeriz early that morning and departed from our accommodation at...
We have walked the Great Glen Way and the West Highland Way, so you could start in Inverness, walk to Fort William then to Milngavie. If you could get over to Melrose you could then pick up St Cuthbert's Way, which we have also walked and part of St Oswald's Way. The Pennine Way starts/ends in...
It is a fun film but typical Coogan & Brydon. Described as Six meals in Six different places on a road trip through Spain from the North Atlantic to the Mediterranean coast- visiting Cantabria, the Basque region, Aragon, Rioja, Castile La Mancha and ending in Andalucia. Pity they don't tell you...
All the very best for your future Lee. Best wishes to Martin and Merel who are following the great tradition of this lovely Albergue. We stayed there in 2014.
Buen Camino.
Anne & Pat

Best wishes,
Anne & Pat
