I had booked at Orisson for the experience but was glad for the rest stop once I realized how out of shape I was.
The people I met there I continued to meet again and again as our paths crossed all the way to Santiago.
I found it massively difficult. My pack was too heavy and my fitness was not quite as good as I thought even though I had trained. Thank goodness I had booked ahead at Orisson.
Once I got my Camino legs and lightened my load I did much better. I also did find uphill easier than downhill even at...
There are plenty of other places in the world to visit, particularly since you've already done a Camino.
If you're having doubts, why not try something completely different?
It’s all,part of the process.
I was much the same way but as soon as I booked the international flights I was in. Sure I could have cancelled but it was just the right catalyst to get on with the rest of the planning.
Never say never but right now I'm in the mindset that there are so many other places that I've never seen.
I read the comments that it won't be the exact same experience, you are different, the time of year is different, blah, blah, blah. I'm just not feeling it but who knows if that may...
I would like to have seen it but there is almost no tv coverage here unlike the Tour de France which was televised live in the morning with a highlight version in the evening.
I stayed there as well. No problems with privacy and a nice communal meal as well. They also had some tables out back if you wanted to sit and soak up the afternoon sun

I can take the information provided here and use it or not. If I happen to be at that albergue I can see if the OP's assessment...
I didn't realize I was in such poor shape, despite my training, until I started out that first day. I was glad I had booked a place in Orisson.
More important than the rest stop was all the friendships that began that evening and continued all the way to Santiago and beyond.
When I was there a couple of years ago I met a Korean woman who carried a similar small guitar along with her pack. I never knew what she was singing and it didn't matter as it was so uplifting.
I was in Korea a couple of months ago and I made it a point to visit her. We had a great evening and...
I also used TrekRight. I didn't use it a whole lot on the trail but it was useful when needed and also for checking out locations of albergues if the first choice was full.
I brought one and ended up ditching it unused. Just dead weight.
My sleeping bag and backpack were sprayed and although I ended up getting eaten I didn't transport them anywhere else
