Kathar1na, you are totally correct concerning the story about Carnac. My bad for not diving deeper into it before posting my remark.
As for the Montes de Oca situation, Aneleraz stated that he, together with his great friend, the since departed "Corzo", were the locals who set up the site. I...
So, señoritas, señoras y señores “moderadores”, dontcha think it’s time to put this baby to rest? I’m a bit tuckered out from all the back and forth…😵💫
Well said, Woody66. A very diplomatically delivered response that highlights what this forum is/should be all about - sharing a sense of community between folks who have walked, are currently walking or are, like me, planning a Camino. You (as in “ustedes”) who have so much experience in walking...
Very good! Baja is magical, but like all things everywhere, it is changing. San Lucas and San José were sleepy fishing towns when I moved to BCS in ‘96. Now they rival Cancun and the Riviera Maya for the # of turistas visiting and ex-pats moving in, at least part-time. Anyway, we probably...
Yeah, I understand @ the latitude difference. I’m from the mid Atlantic region, a few hrs south of NY, and it still gets stinky hot and humid there during the “dog days” of summer. But I assumed (bad move on my part) when folks said heat wave, it meant higher than the 80s. My error 🤷🏽♂️
BTW...
😳
Seriously?
I’m sorry, but all my years in southern Baja has left me jaded temperature-wise. On a typical August 3rd, the low may be 80°F, and I’m talking @5:30 or 6AM🤪
Ah, yes, the quintessential time of rest during the hottest part of the day…la siestita. The summers where I live in México are hot - not unusual to have a couple of weeks running of 40C days and 27C nights. One must do as the locals do; get your chores done early before the heat really kicks in...
Very good. Despite what many fellow Americans from the US say or believe, I have found the overwhelming majority of French folk, Parisians included, to be gracious, friendly and helpful. Thank you again. Enjoy round 2 in France and the CF with your sisters. Buen Camino! 🤙🏽
Thank you for sharing your fotos from your walk last year and plans for this Fall. I hope you will be in touch with the Forum during your upcoming trip. I also am interested in the Le Puy route and am considering it to begin my initial Camino. The area looks beautiful! What time of year did you...
My internal alarm wakes me up after @5 hours of sleep. It’s like clockwork (sorry🤷🏽♂️). If I fall asleep at 10PM, l’ll be awake by 3AM, 3:30 if I’m lucky. But I am good to go all day, nada de siestas, tho’ a brief 40 winks isn’t out of the question. So, knowing my rhythms as I do, it would...
