Ah. Yeah it's a huge challenge, I can imagine. Not only importing crop pests and diseases but, as you said, protecting native species. All kinds of domino effects leading to extinctions all over the world.
I have several Compostelas, so don't feel the need to stand in line and get another. However my plan is to ask albergues, churches and bars/cafes along the way if they will stamp my credential AND my journal. I think it would be fun to have stamps along with my writing for each day.
How do other people, not on this forum, find out about the 2 sellos a day rule? (The other thing I wonder is why people make such a huge deal about getting a Compostela.. especially if they've already gotten one in the past, but I assume there are many different personal reasons.)
I looked for Padron seeds when I was in Padron. Was told they are sold there on market day on Sunday. The Franciscans brought peppers back to Spain from around where I live in New Mexico, which was then New Spain. We have lots of peppers here but not those!
