Hi, I walked for 10 days from SJPP in Sept 2016. I think if you can budget 25 - 30 euros per day you will be comfortable.
You may find that on 20 euros per day you will be worrying about your budget and not able to be relaxed on your Camino.
I will be walking again in April. The way I do...
Hi, I have just returned from 2 weeks on Camino Frances. I started in SJPP with the idea of walking as far as I could. I had a flight booked out of Logrono (to Madrid) with the idea of catching a bus back. I walked further than Logrono but then decided to experience walking back so I returned...
Hi, I walked in rain for 2 weeks on Primitivo route in Oct 2014. I wore trail runners with merino wool socks and sock liners. The woolen socks wicked the water away from my feet, excess water ran out of the shoes because they weren't waterproof and the shoes and socks generally dried...
Hi we are two South African women who will be walking from St Jean and if all goes well we will arrive in Roncevalles on 18th and leave on the 19th for Zubiri. We will look out for you. Buen Camino. Lesley and Michele
We had mixed weather but it was still a wonderful experience. It would be my first choice if I had your dilemma. It is really beautiful and interesting. I was fairly fit when I started walking the northern coastal route and after about 2 weeks walking to the Primitivo, I felt strong.
Hi
If you are relatively fit, I would also recommend the Primitivo. I walked in Sept/Oct 2014 and it was a wonderful experience. I started in Irun on del Norte as I had plenty of time. Alternatively you could walk a section of the Northern Route. I found both routes wonderful. BTW I will be...
This is my first Camino and I am leaving from the states Sunday and expect to be taking my first step from sjpdp on Wednesday is it normal to not sleep, have a hard time concentrating and have this feeling of a combination of fear of the unknown, excitement and "what the heck am I doing walking...
Thanks Derwen for sharing. For those of us still to walk this is helpful. Most posts are always so positive. I think your post will be helpful to me if I feel like giving up. I will remember your post and all the replies and know that it is all part of the Camino experience, that others also...
Thanks Margaret for your kit list and all the wonderfully useful information. Are you planning to walk this year? Maybe we will see you, my husband and I start walking on 10 Sept and have until 30 October.
