    Those Dreary Urban Settings....

Thanks rappahannock_rev for the quick answer. Change comes very slowly in most institutions that have been around for centuries. I am a RC and have attended services in the Anglican Church and have noticed the many similarities with the Catholic Church service.

    Route Napolean versus Valcarlos

In 2013 I walked the Napoleon route with a stop in Orrison. I had a amazing time and meet some life long friends in Orisson. Next May , 2017 I plan on doing the Valcarlos route with a stop in Valcarlos. I expect it will be just as amazing as the Napoleon route but different.

worried about being a slow walker

Don't worry about Brierley's designated stops. You can stop where ever you want to stop. I would plan my day the night before and then find an albergue that was close to that location. This is your walk not Brierley's . Have a great journey.

    The Meseta

I walked the Meseta in May 2013. I loved it. The peace and quiet when walking was magical. The spring flowers were out and the multi shades of green fields was breath taking. I wanted to walk the WHOLE camino not just the fun bits but in fact the whole way was all the fun bits. Looking...

    Current Internet Cafes?

I walked the CF in May- June 2013 and most albergues that advertised having internet I found that either the computers we not working or the connection was extremely slow. Best to carry your own smart phone as most bars and many private albergues had wifi.

Walk from Bayonne to St. Jean

Thanks for all the information and advice. It would seem that the best option would be to stick to my original plan and get the early afternoon train to St. Jean. I have a room booked at the L'Esprit du Chemin for May 1st and I don't want to mess up that experience . Buen Camino all, Kennedy
