You may get a little bored because your legs are rather short which means a lot of sitting around unless you love exploring the towns and close vicinity of where you decide to sleep the night.

I used to wake up in the night with horrifying muscle cramps with a lot of associated pain in one of my calves. Only ever one calve or the other.

Muscle cramps can be caused my a lack of Magnesium. A small amount of Epsom Salts with water will fix it but it tastes awful. Maybe buy some magnesium tables from a pharmacy and from St jean Pied de Port to Santiago you shouldn't need more that 5 or 6 of the tablets for the whole trek.
The first 'Camino Frances' that I did took 5 days. However, I did NO TRAINING at all before I went.
The first two days were quite hard but after that it got easier and easier. The last stretch from Palas de Rei was easy.
My daughter and I went to stay in Madrid at the end of our Camino. Amazing place and not at all tacky.
There is a train from Santiago that takes just under 5 hours.
Make sure you have a set of collapsible poles they will be invaluable as there are some tough climbs and you will need them to also help to offset the weigh on your knees at times.

At the Camino office in St Jean you can get a bus to the cross which is quite near the top. From there it is a good gentle and not too far to walk.
I have done the Camino multiple times and still am incapable to doing that first stretch up the Pyrenees as I do not do any training before I go...
I just love the easy walk from the cross to Roncesvalles and do not much like the walk up the big big hill. My knees are also starting to suffer a bit - it happens when you're in your 70's.
