I agree with Saint Mike II - The Way is a completely different type of production, and will always be my first glimpse into the Camino. I would like to see the documentary, but only after I have been on my own Camino trek.
Thank you for this!
Has anyone else got an alternate route they would like to share? There seem to be a number of first time walkers setting off in the next few months, and I am sure we would all like to take full advantage of your accumulated knowledge of this magical route.
Oh, nonsense. We ladies are equally keen on adventure, and are exquisitely resourceful in our own right.
No one wants to hear, or tell, stories of being tucked safely away in bed every night before curfew like good little children ;)
My personal experience in this regard is that it is incredibly difficult to get this time off without some sort of repercussion, be it unpaid leave or uncollected comments and snide remarks about your dedication to your job, and even calling into question the quality of your work by your...

I heard about the Camino Francés from a friend/colleague of mine who had decided to leave full time employment and take a 8 month long sabatical. A friend of hers had already planned to do the Camino from Astorga onwards the following month, and invited her to join. At the time I thought it...
Thanks! This post gives me some comfort! I am 33, have bad knees, can't run to save my life (the last two points no doubt due to being overweight), but I can walk - I have no idea how far, but I can. I plan on walking from SPJdP to Santiago next year, and have taken out a gym membership so...
