We walked Primitivo this summer as we only had 2 weeks- we (husband and I) finished in 13 days. I thought it was much more difficult due to the hills than the Full French way that I completed the summer before (solo).
Religiously speaking- I enjoyed the evening Mass along the French way that...
July 2022- I saw Casa "Tia Dolores" the beer garden just before O Pedrouzo made of glass bottles
July 2023- With great excitement and thirst for a beer we were so disappointed to find it was completely gone this year:(
Here's a few photos in its glory days: Casa Tia Dolores
Does anyone know the...
Cindy-
I am sorry to hear of the loss of your parents and hope you are able to go on Camino and that you do find peace there as so many people do.
I met pilgrims of all ages and ability- as they say, everyone has their own camino and I believe you want this and you can do it.

I really liked the stages of Stingy Nomad (website) and used them as a primary guide/tweaking as I needed. I did choose to book each night ahead of time as I was on a set timeline-(some people argue against this- it was my preference that I did not regret) and that was the...
Hey!

I used the Stingy nomads plan in general when thinking about the stages for each day- it was "accurate" in terms of mileage I thought. While walking- I used Camino Ninja...
Last summer ('22) I scheduled dinner for 19:00 hr and finished eating just as Mass across the street was about to begin. I also had the paid breakfast. I was glad I did both dinner and breakfast as the food was good, the price was good , the timing and location was great and most of all the...
I am vegetarian- Last summer '22, they had a meal with choice of pasta or soup and then choices of a meat entree. Instead of the meat entree' they gave me the soup then the pasta when the "meat" came out. It was one of my better vegetarian meals on the Camino!
I walked last July and quite a few pilgrims were leaving between 4-5 to beat the heat- some were able to slip out so quietly by having their bag prepacked the night before.
I think you will have very chilly/cool mornings in May that early as I often needed long sleeves in July before the sun...
I took SO Many photos with my phone and short 30 second videos. I didn't let it consume my journey- more just a quick snapshot and on I went. My family would ask about the different pilgrims so I started taking pictures of the people and not just scenery. Every single photo and video is a...
At the two week point I was so homesick for my husband that I asked our good friend who is a priest- What am I doing? I was allowing myself to think I could leave at any time as I had accomplished a long ways, but it was not what was really in my heart, I had the goal to to finish. He reminded...
Thanks for the thread...Its hard to put into words the simplicity and peace I miss from the Camino as I pilgrim through the responsibilities of my daily life....I was wondering if you are still planning to go this year?
