Bedbugs in Atrio Triacastela
I just got back to Canada from Europe on the 5th of October and found numerous bites that I'm guessing are from bed bugs. I have no idea where I got them, since I stayed at numerous places for varying lengths of time. Having done some research, it seems that the bites can take up to 14 days to...- Pilgrim Patricia

@Roseangel: Ourense is lovely! I think your plan to walk from there to Santiago is perfect. My walk was a number of years ago, but I can remember choosing the long slog up a very steep hill on the edge of Ourense to get the elevation gain over with in one go. Too late to start preparing & weather in May?
If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest that you visit a podiatrist/foot doctor to have your gait analysed. I had knee problems for a while years ago, and my GP sent me to a podiatrist who provided custom orthotics. My knee problem disappeared and I no longer have any plantar fasciitis...- Pilgrim Patricia

Weather - now that’s a new one eh?!
Highly recommend full-length hiking pants that zip off at or above the knee. If you're stuck walking in rain and then have a chance to go somewhere indoors (or the sun comes out), you can zip off the soggy lower legs and let them dry. Change your socks too so your feet will feel a bit better...- Pilgrim Patricia
