Yes, Logrono has the most beautiful tapas, and better yet, they even heat up some of them to make it taste so much better!! Three of us al stayed in the albergue by the cathedral and we started at 6:30 pm and we were back at the albergue before 10 pm!! Beautiful!!
Hi Tom, I don't mean to derail this thread, wife and I plan to walk the Olvidado in late September this year. I wonder if you found there is enough pension, cafe, etc. open in the Olvidado?? Did you meet a few pilgrims too? We are in our late 60's and meeting a few pilgrims would make us...
I had also stayed there in September for two days this year. Veronique can also show you if you like how to walk to Biarritz, or even to Irun or SJPdP. Her location is right in old town and the cathedral. Enjoy!
Couple months ago we took blablacar from Moissac to Toulouse, then we found out there are almost hourly or every couple hours trains to Toulouse at less than 10 euros. very convenient. We then took the train to Lourdes, a very enjoyable stay there in the pilgrim gite!
I guess I am too late to ask where exactly you will be arriving and then to offer to book something for you -- so that you will have a bed and yet not deviating from your camino tradition of not booking!
I tend to offer help (actions if allowed to do so) that could produce results! I think...
Really appreciate the info for a gem! We stayed at the big albergue couple years ago and nothing to write home about, even though the hospitalera was very friendly! Still grateful for a place to stay, but definitely will look for the Polish albergue! Gracias!
I stayed two nights at the Youth Hostel Akelarre in Bilbao last October. Well run, clean and convenient, and is across the river/bridge from the bus terminal. about 20 minutes walk to the old town. I paid 18 euros a night, breakfast included and you don't need to be a pilgrim but it is right...
Hi Susi, four of us Canadians had the good fortune of staying in your Case Susi about three weeks ago. It is such a nice facility with excellent donativo supper! I hope more albergues will have single beds like yours so old peregrinos like me don't have to worry about falling down from top...
I walked the San Salvador and Primitivo in May 2014, I had a day or two with very light drizzles which made San Salvador more beautiful in the mist! Path in San Salvador are well marked but should be aware of direction change by cattles -- at one point the iron arrow that was planted on the...
Hi Joodle, I had sciatic nerve in my right leg a few years ago and I could feel the electricity shooting up and down my whole leg and causing much pain. You need to see a doctor pronto because this problem may cause atrophy in the leg. I went to see an acupuncturist to relax the muscles -- and...
Welcome to the Camino Eriko, I sincerely hope you have the opportunity to walk from Sarria to Santiago either with your friends or by yourself before you go home. The camino will touch you and enhance your life in many ways! and I hope you are reading information on this forum on proper...
I am arriving Pamplona on the 7th and plan to start in SJPP on the 8th. I am just happy to see so many pilgrims walking in October too. I wonder if anyone know if I could buy a decent poncho in Pamplona or SJPP? All i have now is a rain proof jacket and no pant.
Buen Camino!
