    I had to skip some bits in 2016 due to illness and injury and some to time pressures. Deeply regret it so I'm heading back in a few weeks for a do over. I would say don't miss the Mesetta. Beautiful sunrises over freshly harvested wheat fields and glorious stacks of hay. I took many many photos.

    I've found stopping at Orisson helps me acclimatise, but then I'm travelling from OZ not the UK. Training through winter and arriving in late summer is a shock to the system so I like to easy my way in.

    Weight, and how its discussion is terrifying me.

    I carried 14kg, well above 10% of my body weight. I trained with this weight and had no issues. When I go again this year there are a few things I will not be taking so anticipate it will be less than 14kg. But again I will be training with this weight.

    If you take a head torch and have early starts you will end up with a face full of bugs, so if you want to take a torch make it hand held.

    When in doubt, always have letter from your GP and keep in original containers. I always take some antibiotics just in case and will be doing the same when I walk the Camino again in September. My GP even includes my Vit D and Magnesium in the letter just to make life simple.
