Hello SallGar. Back in 2018. My wife and I got as far as Castrojeriz before having to call it off due to requiring a Knee replacement. I completed the Frances this year but it’s always been on my mind to go back and complete it one day. Hopefully 2025 will be the year.
Hell Brendan. I completed the Camino back in mid May, pre booked all my accomodations. Confirming each Albergue the night before, the only problem I had was that the owners would get confused from Anthony being used for booking and Tony for confirming. WhatsApp and Google Translate...
Hi Paula. You ain’t the only one, I finished my third Camino Frances last June.
On completion I told my wife that it was my last Camino, it didn’t take long two weeks later I started planning my next.

I was the same back six years ago on my first Camino I only had Orrison booked , I do have to admit that I was a lot younger and faster. Most days we were first at the municipal Albergue, these days I’m not as fast and have pre booked most of my accommodations.
I found the best way is to send the Albergue an email requesting a check in and check out dates and have used google translate to translate in Spanish. Make sure you give them you phone no as well.
Hello Mark
Take your time and enjoy your Camino, will be great to get daily updates on numbers of pilgrims, albergue’s, weather and costs. Take care and Buen Camino
Hi Puttster My first Camino (C F ) I stayed in Municipals, ineteracted with a lot of Pilgrims. Truely enjoyed it. My second Camino were al Private Albergues I found that the food was better but I didn’t meet as many.
Hello awunderli, sorry to hear about your fall. My wife was sick a few years ago is Santiago, we went to their public hospital were she had fantastic service with no charge at all. Thanks for the update, unfortunately it will be a while until we are aloud to travel overseas. Buen Camino.
Since July 12, 2021, and for a foreseeable year, the Civil Guard prohibits the passage of pilgrims (on foot or by bike) through the old N-VI between Las Herrerías and O Cebreiro: therefore we must go up the official path
