How dangerous are the Pyrenees?
Well....in between the third and fourth caw pastures..near the goat herd...there is a ram that has a particularly large chip on its shoulder. It has been known to trash talk and request lunch money.

I agree. ATM's for the most part are the "wholesale" rate for everyone. . It sounds like the banking industry has people believing there is a wholesale rate. How better to convince individuals they are better off using the banks and getting really good rates.
Some people like paying for...
Please please look at the transaction before you think that AE is giving you a good deal. They may charge no fees but what is the exchange rate? You should be getting around $1.22 - $1.24 depending upon the day. Is that what AE is giving you?
Given that the current exchange rate is closer to $1.23, I think you are paying about a 9% fee for your exchange. The ATM will give you Euros for something closer to $1.23
I don't see how this is a less expensive choice.
My VISA ATM card was a local bank with Intralink and Plus. It worked at all that I tried in France and Spain.
Make sure your PIN fits the Euro protocol which is 4 digits I believe. You should check that to make sure you avoid a problem.
There are ATM's as soon as you land in France or Spain...
I have booked my train ticket etc and need a room in Bayonne on the night of May 11th. The hotels near the train station all seem to be booked or need an early arrival. I am on the 19:43 train.
Can anyone help?
thank you and Buen Camino

Hello!
I will be 63 on May 7 and I am starting from SJPdP around May 15. I am from Connecticut USA.
I am eagerly anticipating that first day. I'm sure that , like me, your friends are all asking why. I don't have an answer except to say that for some reason I want to.
Hope to see you a all...
