I love your resolutions. The same thing happened to me in 2017. My Camino ended in Astorga... also health issues of a sort. When I decided to finish from Astorga in 2020, I thought about the exact things you mentioned above and have decided to start over in SJPDP. The snorers never bothered...
I went over the Pyrenees June 3/4, 2017 and nearly froze. No snow, just lots of cold rain. I didn't have heavy clothes, just layered with what I had, but I would have given anything for a pair of warm gloves. A pair is going with me when I return next year. Hopefully I won't need them. Oh...
Didn't know there was a bus from Madrid to Pamplona... I flew, spent the night, then took a bus to SJPP the next morning. Also didn't know there was a bus from Madrid to SJPP. Guess I didn't do my research enough in 2017. Will look into buses next year when I plan to return to SJPP and try again.
I am so glad this has finally been cleared for me because I have been confused by this as well. I didn't get to finish my first time around so this is helpful news for when I go back next year.
This is the way I did it from Los Angeles. Then took a taxi from Pamplona airport to the albergue I had reserved for the night. Next day a bus ride to SJPD. Very easy. Buen Camino!
So sorry this had to happen to you. I feel your pain. In 2017 I had to give up in Astorga after walking from SJPD, limping with serious pain for half of it. I had planned for five years and thought I was prepared. I'm an avid walker and hiker and have never had as much as a blister. No...
Oh, I remember it well. I had to cut my Camino short last year in Astorga because of excruciating pain in both feet due to bursitis (diagnosis once reaching home). When I saw that I had to cross this I nearly sat down and cried. It took me what seemed like forever to get across, and on top...
Thank you for this info. I attempted to walk the Camino last June/July (2017) from SJPP but unfortunately had to cut it short due to unforeseen pain in both feet. I had anticipated every conceivable foot problem but inflamed bursas (my doctor's diagnosis once home - bursitis in both heels -...
This is so reassuring because this is exactly my time frame and walking plan. I know temperatures vary from day to day, month to month and year to year, so I am not expecting a set temp range. However, I am used to a little heat and will have a hat and breathable clothing. Thanks for posting.
I haven't even done my first Camion yet (June/July 2017), but my second one will be in Sept/Oct based on these wonderful responses. I've always loved Sept/Oct anyway... so why not? :D
Happy for you. I couldn't even get a chance to pay. I filled out a request form, hit the submit button, and I get nothing in return. I just must be doing something wrong... that's why I asked them for help via email. I still haven't heard back from them (the second time). But, I have given...
Easier said than done. I've been trying for over a week. Can't get trough on the website nor a personal email with them. I told them I was having difficulty on the website and would they please help me. The answered in Spanish (which I translated with Google translate) that they don't have a...
I just purchased my travel insurance from Allianz Global Assistance through my travel agent, AAA of So. California. I told her what I needed, got a good price, then went home and read - word for word - the whole policy to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. AAA is, I believe, a very...
