Thank you for letting us know! We had a wonderful stay with them 3 days ago. The shared dinner with Brothers Daniel and Angel and a handful of peregrinos was heartwarming. We must do what we can to help them serve future pilgrims.
Zabaldika- the mass was so inclusive. The nuns so warm and helpful, the bell in the tower so ancient and resonant and on top of that it was donativo for those in need.
It works for me outside in the dark on a path or trail. I wouldn't recommend it for fast travel on technical terrain. For those in the US I suggest you buy one at REI, test it for your use indoors and out, and return it if it doesn't meet your needs. I still use it to read in bed at night after...

Zabaldika was one of the very most memorable and enjoyable stops on my Camino last fall. If you are anywhere near I highly recommend it. A beautiful mass, a lovely tower to climb (and ask if you can ring the bell up there) a communal meal, outstanding facilities, and it's donativo!
I'll be landing in Pamplona 13:30 on Oct 3, looking for a way to get to St Jean to start my Camino.
Not sure if there will be a bus so would like to share a taxi or other conveyance if that works for any of you.
