    Getting a walking stick home?

Where is "home"? How and by what route are you travelling home? I took mine on the plane (back to Melbourne, Australia) without any issue. It was well wrapped up. I flew from Madrid to Rome then after a week onto Melbourne.

He did say he was using a debit card... you can't make this kind of transaction using a debit card.

    Anglican Albergues?

And this is exactly what's wrong with these conversations. The only authority on Catholic Church matters is (God speaking through) the Magisterium of Catholic Church. Individual opinions have no baring on things so please, leave them out of it. (Edited to include the quote properly)

Walking in Feb. and need help!

There's a good few threads on here about walking in winter which will be of help to you. Take a look and shoot us your questions that are still left. Good luck working the transportation out, there are also threads on that too :)

LIVE from the Camino Should I skip Roncesvalles to Pamplona?

I actaully haven't come across those threads but whether I agree with them or not, you'll find at this time of year they won't get booked out :)

LIVE from the Camino Should I skip Roncesvalles to Pamplona?

...only if it is your way of doing things. Do what works for you.

LIVE from the Camino Should I skip Roncesvalles to Pamplona?

I too like to plan, I get anxious when I am just walking blindly. When I walked this year in February on my own I would plan the following two day's walk - one day ahead in winter isn't enough becuase you could end up with a 50km walk by accident on the second day becuase of the scarcity of...

    No Albergue open in Roncesvalles?

Never trust a list! Things change. The best way to know whether an albergue will be open is to ask the hostelliers at the previous night's location. Locals will have a better idea of who is open and can also ring ahead for you to check.

    The year of peak camino?

The pilgrimage to St James the Apostle has ranked alongside Rome and Jerusalem since the 13th century. The popularity amongst the whole Christian world, and most particularly western Christians, was enormous. The popularity it experiences now is just incomparable. Times have changed and these...

Is the Camino safe for a solo female? (and other pressing questions)

Well...not for very long in July if you do, but it's possible. I did.

Is the Camino safe for a solo female? (and other pressing questions)

Nancy, your post and David's excerpt have reminded me of a rather unpleasant night spent in Fromista this winter. There were only two of us in the albergue, the other pilgrim was a guy who did give me a the creeps a little and I was quite worried going to sleep with pictures of him sticking a...

Is the Camino safe for a solo female? (and other pressing questions)

I have walked in both summer and winter and neither time felt I was ever in danger. You need to be wary as you would walking anywhere on your own. I walk with a pilgrim's staff (you can see it in my avatar) and that gives me a great feeling of safety - my last one had a very pointy metal end...

Pilgrim numbers at Santo Domingo dela Calzada in 2013

Oops, I meant Spanish not Italian - sorry.

Pilgrim numbers at Santo Domingo dela Calzada in 2013

When I was at the Spanish Confraternity's albergue in Santo Domingo dela Calzada this February they printed off their sheet of statistics for 2013 and gave it to me. I hope that the photo will be readable (the printing is small so I left it as a large photo). What I found most amazing is that...

    A wintery meseta

Here are some photos from my walk. Definitely, definitely consider a February Camino, it was good beyond all expectations.

    A wintery meseta

Warmer than I had expected, which wasn't necessarily a good thing, just meant I carried more than I anticipated because I thought I'd be wearing it. From memory 0-5C on average with some days up to 10/12 and others down to -3... Certainly dryer and sunnier than I expected, which was wonderful...

    A wintery meseta

Hee! This: http://nz.icebreaker.com/en/womens-hats-neckwear/apex-chute/100961F48OS.html?start=16&cgid=womens-hats-neckwear I used it as a headband mostly (admittedly when I read someone taking a headband I thought how ridiculous, just wear a beanie, nooooo, these cover your ears and forehead...
