OH YEAH! Plan to continue on to Finisterre. I am so depressed that I did not go. I had time, but not to do everything, I chose to hug the apostle and attend mass instead. Wish I would have done it all.
Also if your iPod is a touch there is a Camino App by Eroski Consumer, it has maps...
3. Do people bring walking sticks with them? Or do you pick up one along the way! :D
You can do whichever. I did not carry a stick but only did from Sarria to SDC. Two of my friends used sticks and two of us didn't
4. Looking into trousers- was thinking light combats, have the added benifit...
you are my hero! I will be walking from Ponferrada to Santiago in August. I have saved your info and will compare with my plans and I will be all set :-) Good work! I am planning to do the same, log where I stay and post when I return
My dad and I were just discussing me spending a few more nights with family and cutting the trip so now I should be walking from Ponferrada to Santiago from August 13-25 :-)
One of my favorite sites for this is
http://caminodesantiago.consumer.es/los ... o/frances/
It is in Spanish and extremely informative :-)
Hope it helps
First I want to say there should be a folder for months walking so people can connect, and if there is I would love to be pointed in the right direction :-)
Is anyone thinking they will be between Leon and Santiago in August. I am looking to start walking from Leon on August 11 or 12 and have...
If only you were there in August. I am walking for my first time starting around Aug 11. I would love to have someone to practice my Spanish with. I am sure I will find someone. Have a great time on your camino!
Thank you everyone for the wonderful advice! I agree the Camino Will Provide! I have a new question for veterans, I have found several towns with campsites, any idea what the rate to sleep outside is? I am definitely taking my sleeping bag (It is only 1 lb)
Thanks!
I will be walking from Leon to Santiago in August and my family in Spain is worried that the albergues will be full and I will have nowhere to sleep... I am not afraid to sleep on the ground if I have to, but is this really a problem? I know it is Holy Year... what do you think?
Will anyone...
I have never walked and am in the process of gathering information... Did you eat breakfast in the albergue, or just outside somewhere? How much did it cost you?
Gracias
I am hoping that your last post means that your parents are coming around. I am a 27 year old female and my parents are worried about me walking alone as well. I have tried to explain to them that no one is ever truly alone on the Camino, and they know this. Have a great time!
Buen Camino
Thanks for the advice/information. I guess my new question is will anyone from the forum be walking in August. My parents are worried about me walking alone. I guess if I could say, "well some person I never met but found on a Camino forum is walking", then they could feel a little better...
Is it too hot in August to walk the Camino Frances? Is it crazy to attempt the entire Camino Frances for your first walk? I am considering attempting the entire Camino Frances in August of this year. Any advice would be much appreciated
