Recalling a few more recently—Rabinal del Camino and Just spoke with a pilgrim —pack and reservation at molinaseca parochial municipal
And of course Valcarloss, Roncesvalles, Burgos
Most not some
Every municipal I have stayed in has accepted luggage. I’ve seen it on arrival (and reservations)
Hornillos del Camino
Sanbol (I walked with this person)
Riego de Ambros
Castrojeriz
To name a few…whether stipulated or not
I’m on the CF and I appear to be in the minority:not planning with pre booking and carrying my own backpack. After a day of heavy rain, I Stopped at noon in a newer albergue and thankfully have a bed. Reception floor area was covered with large suitcases and shiny backpacks. It’s not a...
I stayed with the lovely nuns (Augustine order) over a week ago. There was singing outside. I cried.
There is a good kitchen area and washing room. Bunks in dorm rooms and not segregated. Blankets if needed.
It was busy, but I managed to sleep ok….departing with the early rustle
Yes, we share with good faith.
Splashing money around..hmmm…hardly…the prices have risen. Fact. money is the currency that fuels the Camino hospitality infrastructure. It’s needed. I don’t wish to be frugal or stingy. We all make choices and perhaps many have saved a long time for this...
Absolutely costs have risen steeply!
I loaded my travel cards well before I left as this is what pilgrims/travelers/hikers were saying..,
I’m not sure I’ll be back on the pilgrimage trails for some years, so I’m enjoying —greatly—the moments here. It is also very busy and not always possible...
I’m live on the Camino
Yep, prices are up from my last (seven years ago)
My budget is dormitory and pilgrim menu. Cafe con leche a few times each day (WC!)
Apccommadion is rarely under ten euros
15 on average
Sometimes a charge for blankets
A day may look like this
Albergue—14
Cena—14...
Hi Borda
Here is what you wrote:
I do have the sincere desire to do Camino but I have no clarity on why I'm doing the Camino
A sincere desire. great!
No clarity. great!
One certainly does not need a set vision, in fact, a lack of clarity can allow for flexibility and the unexpected...
Love your enthusiasm. You stand on the cusp of an incredible adventure!
Bucketbabe, you've set up the structures and so now be willing and ready to let go of expectations, plans and schedules; This is part of the Way and stepping into the Mystery....
Ah so much advice and wisdom here...this is the result of walking these ancient pilgrimage routes
Camino magic
Firstly, thanks for sharing your story—especially as you’ve been anticipating this special journey for two plus years
Hmmm I don’t believe anyone invites themselves...as it takes...
Similar experience last year—extremely rude Hospitalarios and I thankfully turned around and checked into the municipal—warmer welcome—clean enough and friendly: in terms of a job...do what you love...your energy is felt by those around you!
Mary’s not responding because she’s walking..reflecting...seeing blue skies ...dusty roads ...Spanish villages—possibly enjoying herself: agree regarding walking alone—a challenge which is liberating and perhaps an antidote for “boredom”—like Life, the Camino sure has its ups and downs, small...
In error I made the post before adding some more information:
the bites were only on my face— they didn’t linger so I assume they weren’t bed bugs
I didn’t see any on my bed or surroundings
Thanks for tips
I love the smell of citronella
Some humans are getting up at 4 a.m!!
Stayed in municipal in SJPP recently and was itching the whole night—didn’t sleep much and couldn’t ID any bedbugs—in the morning I saw about nine large round welts—sore and itchy..on my face ..chin..nowhere else thank heavens—.are they from spiders ? Lass in above bunk had no problems—they...

Hello (again!)...this is a follow up to my previous post---...so....is Bellevue House (Polish sisters) walking distance from town--? I plan to catch the bus from the airport.
Also, I have not been able to contact the pilgrim hostel via email (unanswered).
Merci--bon chemin
Hello, I am soon to step out and wondering if the Polish Seminary (Bellevue) is easy to find as a post mentioned a shuttle bus! I thought Bellevue was close to the grotto/cathedral but perhaps this is not the case?
I am flying to Lourdes from Paris and intend to catch the local bus into the...
Not October...but soon...8/8/18 I plan to step out (or the next day if too weary from a long flight)...Lourdes is a wonderful place to be with the element of water all around. I have not been able to get in touch with the pilgrim hostel to make a booking and so I am staying with the Polish...
