    Talk about being self sufficient but I'm guessing that this only applies to the Camino Frances. Great if you can get to that weight. However, what about the longer routes such as Via de la Plata where the distances average about 25km per stage? Food for thought.

    Plan your days and walk about 10-15km daily to alleviate the pressure on your knee. Also zig zag whe. Going down hills as it will relieve the pressure.

    Do you wear a knee brace when you walk? If your knee is very weak try some strengthening exercises, wear a neoprene brace and take it very easy.
