Talk about being self sufficient but I'm guessing that this only applies to the Camino Frances. Great if you can get to that weight. However, what about the longer routes such as Via de la Plata where the distances average about 25km per stage? Food for thought.

Plan your days and walk about 10-15km daily to alleviate the pressure on your knee. Also zig zag whe. Going down hills as it will relieve the pressure.

Congrats on walking with your grand daughter. I took my 12 yr old nephew on the Camino Portugues in 2010 and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
