    Eating vegetarian in Logrono

Another vote for Winederful. Great location too.

    I may be crazy....

If you're concerned about your daughter not making it due to lack of training, why not have her bag sent ahead (you have reservations, right?). Then the walking will be easier for her.

When you have to stop, and the lessons.

Cute cat in your avatar picture!

    Need to abandon walk!

For whatever reason, chiropractic is not widely available in Spain which is why I suggested an osteopath instead.

    Last post From The Road

My experience on 2 Caminos since the 2016 election has been somewhat different than @davebuggs. For the most part people I have interacted with have been curious and sympathetic about the state of affairs with USA politics, not angry or vengeful.

    Need to abandon walk!

While you're resting in Leon, you might want to seek out the services of an osteopath. Earlier this year when I was finishing up the VDLP-Camino Sanabres, I started having a lot of pain in my lower leg, fortunately on the last day. After I hobbled into Santiago and stubbornly persisted in...

    Keto on the Camino???

FWIW, if you're wanting to remain in ketosis/eat low carb, it would be a good idea to go easy on the chestnuts. Even though they have "nut" in their name they are carb dominant, not fat dominant like most nuts.

Zubiri Pilgrim Meal disappointment (putting it mildly)

Every once in awhile a 10E pilgrim meal exceeds expectations. This summer on the VDLP in Rionegro del Puente at Me Gusta Comer I had an excellent 10E pilgrim meal.

    Got advice? Share it please!

Walk at a pace that is comfortable for you. You have no idea how many people I met along the way who were injured because they were walking faster than their fitness level was good for in an attempt to keep up with someone they found interesting. If you lose one group of interesting people...

Amazing albergue - don’t miss it!

Stayed there in 2015 and enjoyed it. Wouldn't want to stay there in bad weather as bathroom access is across an open courtyard.

Guide book from La Puy France

If you prefer one in English, check out the Lightfoot Guide to the Via Podiensis.

    Repeating Caminos ?

In Ivar's Forum Store there is a map showing all of the Camino Routes on the Iberian Peninsula. Have you seen it? It provides much food for thought (sometimes too much IMO) with respect to choosing a Camino route. The point being, you have barely scratched the surface. Check out...

    Massage Therapy

I found really good ones in Leon, Cacabelas and Rabanal. In Rabanal several massage therapists had set up tents in a grassy area near the middle of town. That was in 2015 so they may or may not still do that. In Leon there are several choices but I cannot remember the name of the person- just...

Did you have the luxury of a steaming hot bath during your Camino?

Pension Arbidel in Ribadesella on the Camino Norte. It had started to rain earlier in the day. By the time I got to Ribadesella my feet were soaked and I was starting to feel chilled. That bath tub was certainly a welcome sight and put to good use. In Molinaseca the place I stayed (Le Palais...

Conflicted about going, plane leaves Friday?

I have to admit that I only quickly scanned all of the earlier replies. If this is simply an annoying duplication, well that's what the delete key is for. Seek out private albergues since they usually take reservations. When reserving put in your request for a lower bunk and if necessary...

    From peregrina to hospitalera

Maybe I don't understand the albergue business, but I really wonder how many of the private albergue operators can be operating at a profit. Many of the private albergues that I stayed in appeared to have undergone extensive renovations to become an albergue. Add to that ongoing maintenance...

    Love and Love of Solitude

Like you, @EmoJohnson, I would describe myself as an introvert. My first Camino I walked with a friend. On the basis of that experience I chose to walk my second Camino solo with no regrets. YMMV. Prior to the first outing I talked with a lot of people in my town who had already walked the...

Astorga lodging hard to come by

Have you tried airbnb as well? Another worthwhile source to check when things are tight on the other booking sites.

    Travel Question

Oh, they'll (Ryanair ) print it for me if I pay them 50E! This is my first time flying Ryanair and to me they seem to take the nickel-and-dime you approach to a whole new level. Vamos a ver.... Anyway, mission accomplished. Per SYates suggestion I went to San Martin Pineiro where they have a...
