The average cost of staying in an albergue today is near 14€ per night. Unless you stay in municipals which might reduce the cost to closer to 10€ per night. I am 50+ and lost about 25lbs on my 30 days from SJPP to Santiago. No dieting for me. I ate like a king and drank like a fish. In moderation of course.- vinsman

Advice for pilgrims Crossing Pyrenees Spring 2014
I started my Camino on April 3, 2013. It was a sunny day, the Route Napoleon was closed per the staff in the pilgrims office in SJPP so I walked the Valcarlos Route. No problems. I did walk in snow 4 days later just out of Pamplona, and again in O'Cebrerro but that is just what pilgrims do...- vinsman
