My experience and counsel to you is simple... you get what you pay for... when I went in 2021 I bought Allianz... not the cheapest but...... I used them again in 2023.....they are exceedingly communicative and professional... and will deliver the 'goods' in the unlikely case you need them...
That’s what I did in 2021…… I wouldn’t change a thing……..perfect daily mileages, no injuries….remember it’s your Camino! “take it and enjoy. It will be over & in the past all too quickly” stole the words out of my mouth! www livealagom .life. My Camino Frances is there
Yes, it was an epically (beautiful) downhill for my knees. Oofdah Descent. Clearly people have gotten hurt on this section.....However, with caution and slow speed
AND walking poles.... you (all) can do it and will NOT regret this epic part of the Camino... Molinaseca is THE REWARD at the end...
This was a good post... I agree with most of it....so I won't give a lengthy 2c worth. I arrived in SJPP on thursday the 9th around 2:30 on at the bus from Pamplona.... i found SJ touristy and i was alone with a reservation just past Orisson at Borda (fabulous host) I am in good shape but it...
A Borda, one of the best Albergues on the whole Camino! Just fabulous! You make your own arr. directly with transport co. / I’m sure Lauren can help with phone call…if need be.
I have one remaining day to go in my Camino and I will be in Finsterre tomorrow. All of the sights and sounds, the things that touched me and moved me, and obviously the people I’ve met. For those of you over thinking going on your Camino -draw a line in the sand and go. For those of you over...
Buen Camino! Final WAIT and final WEIGHT. I start Thursday and will post a short update as to my experience traveling from US (Sunday antigen test in hand ) and transferring through Heathrow in the Barcelona and having a tight train connection to get up to Pamplona for my first night. I’ll...
well, i appear to have been scammed on my ebay tent purchase - i've filed a claim..maybe a sign ! ? .... I did however buy a 1.4 lb yup 0.7kg tent at REI today... I'll let you know the results of a) good idea b) waste of effort end of camino. What pushed me over the edge is a) larger...
yes.... i am realllly wrestling with the tent - fo sho..... and i KNOW i'd not use it more than 4-6 times... its just that i know i'd be thankful for what ever the unforeseen events where i'd be really glad i had it with me.....yup, i know i'm sounding conflicted.... any and more feedback (from...
As i will be there sept. 9 this thread (with embedded emotion & opinion) has been helpful. Due to capacity (restrictions), covid variants (me vaxed & vexed), and snoring... i will likely bring (possibly regret the weight overage) a 2.5 lb (1.3kg) tent for last minute...
I have been training diligently (another 10mi this a.m. ) but due to back, hip, knee potential issues i may elect to ride the Meseta section... as a 'failsafe' option. I'm optimistic but will keep this option in my 'pocket' (walk the first third, ride the peseta, and walk the last third.....I...
Forgive the (obvious) simple observations- take care of the knowns before you go! Second you CAN accommodate the known ‘unknowns’ ahead of time. The unknown unknowns are confronted en Camino… prayer likely helpful. Boy Scout motto “be prepared”. See you in September, I’m planning my first 7...
