    Lisbon

I started with the CP central, then the coastal and last one was the CF. Of course, I say the first is ones most special and magical (at least for me) and you wonder if you could ever "top it"? As long as you go with the mindset that NOTHING is ever the same the second time around, you will...

I would love to also have you info, as I will be walking again in June, ty, ultreia

When a camino does not exactly go the way you’ve planned

What an amazing video. Am planning my 4th camino for June 2020 and have done this route and it brought back so many beautiful memories. How blessed Jen and Rick were, although they had their struggles, they were able to experience the camino as individuals and as a couple! Just more reason to...

Making up questions just so you can post to make people jealous

I TOTALLY agree Kiwi-family! I also have an Amazing husband who just returned from his second camino in July w/our 20 yo daughter and now I leave in two weeks for my third. You have helped me realize how lucky I am to be able to go again, thank you very much! Which route are you taking?

Thanks so much for clarifying Dave, much appreciated and bom caminho

    Astorga-Porto-Santiago

Sorry, I guess I was under the assumption that if you walked part of one camino and bused to another it would count. I am wanting to start in Burgos to Leon (186k) and bus to CP and finish with some friends. So will I not be able to collect my compostela by combining two routes?

    Astorga-Porto-Santiago

Where will start the initial camino and where on the CP will you start? As long as you start in Tui you would qualify, but seems like you will have acquired some mileage by starting in Astorga. For me, it's not about getting my compostela anymore, it's my journey walking and meeting amazing...

    Astorga-Porto-Santiago

Why wouldn't you qualify for the compostela? Taking the boat has nothing to do with it, as long as you collect 2 stamps a day, you will have no problem. You can either stay at the municipal albergue in vila nova de arousa or go there to purchase your ticket for the boat 19euros p.p. The ride...

    Astorga-Porto-Santiago

Sorry, forgot to mention that you can do the CP in 9-14 days, depending on which route and rest days. I did the central in 9 days and then the coast in 12 days, both of which I was walking about 25-30k, which I won't do again, especially if one has the time! I plan to only walk about 20k or...

    Astorga-Porto-Santiago

Happy to read this Dee, thinking the same and as I am leaving on the 18th of September and have already done CP twice. My thought was to train/bus from Lisbon to Leon and walk to Burgos so I could experience the Meseta and some of the CF. I would then spend a few days in Burgos and find my way...

Solo women on Camino Portugues- advice please

Hello Surya8, I am leaving for my third camino on the 18th of September and trying to decide on the CP starting in Viseu also. How is the terrain? I have done the CP coastal and central and loved them both in different ways. Would love to hear more about the start in Viseu.

Portuguese coastal route safe going solo?

I am also walking solo in September, deciding on either the Portuguese interior or central. Maybe we will all meet up along the way! Bom caminho

Lisbon to Santiago... What not to miss?

Sorry to hear about your injury, I feel your pain! I walked the CP in July with my 20 yo son and day 8, thought I had pulled a muscle, had to bus the last 3 days into Santiago. Once I got home 3 wks later, had an MRI and found out it wasn't a pulled muscle at all, but I had fractured the neck...

Well I leave on the 2nd of July, so hopefully will have better info by than, if not, will check info when I arrive in Lisbon. I will also be walking with my son, so at least we will "have each other" to rely upon and "two heads are better than one"! Thanks for your quick response also Alan

Nervous first-time pilgrim - Camino Portugues July 2016

Thanks so much, this is a big help! Is it well marked, cause I don't have the newest Brierly and don't really want to spend the money, so I'm hoping to be o.k. by "trusting"

Nervous first-time pilgrim - Camino Portugues July 2016

Hi Alan, I would love to see/hear about the route you took. My Brierly's book is from last year, so it doesn't have the route I am wanting to take. I will be starting in Matosinhos, could you possibly help me out with my itinerary? Much appreciated, Bom Caminho Liana

Nervous first-time pilgrim - Camino Portugues July 2016

Hi Cath, I walked the Portuguese last July, starting in Matosinhos and walking the coast the first day and pulling inward from there. We also took the "Espiritual" route in Pontevedra, which I would HIGHLY recommend! I am walking again in the beginning of July with my 20yo son (can't wait)...
