I stayed at the municipal albergue in 2016. it was clean and neat. I remember 2 restaurants not to fr from the albergue. It is a fairly short walk into Santiago. I arrived in time for the Pilgrims' Mass.
In 2016 I stayed at the municipal albergue and walked around the manor house. i recall two restaurant/bars in walkable distance from the albergue. From Two it was a nice short walk to Santiago the next morning.
Another place I enjoyed twice was the Cafe Majestic. Very good food and friendly and helpful staff. I ate there before I started the Central Route and after two weeks, I was remembered when I ate there again.
Candace,
Thank you for sharing your Caminho Portugues stories and pictures. I walked the same route (except for your Day 1) in 2016. Your images are bringing back wonderful memories and a longing to return to Portugal and Spain. I will continue to follow your blog. Many thanks!
Steve
